Jerry Chu is an accomplished brand/advertising executive & innovation leader with 20 years experience in Corporate, Start-Ups, Non-Profit sectors. He has successfully led, transformed and grown brands and businesses throughout his career. Jerry’s expertise in brand strategy, advertising, product development & design & production has given him the confidence to make the leap to entrepreneurship.
Following his Passion, founded The Stitch Effect, a Creative Design Studio that focuses on consumer engagement across various products, industries, and platforms. The importance to create & produce innovative brand strategies & products to reinvigorate brands are at the core of who we are. Our experience cultivating and leading a multidisciplinary team of strategists, designers, architects, and production have proven successful. We collectively work together to activate experiential marketing programs for a range of businesses and create trademark slogans for companies. Ingrained in the fabric of our DNA, we also develop and build intellectual property to extend the value of the business. Jerry was Managing Director at Omnicom’s Arnell Group; under the tutelage of Brand Guru, Peter Arnell where we developed Brands, Products and Experiences across all industries. During his career, Jerry was blessed to work alongside and be mentored by Muhammad Ali, Frank Gehry, Lance Wyman; where he learned, further developed his skills and launched solutions in a wide variety of industries from sports & apparel, to food & beverage, hospitality and experience, automotive and electronics.
Notably, at Arnell, Jerry championed the conception of GOOP for Gwyneth Paltrow, project managed the rebrand of Miami’s iconic hotel Fontainebleau, designed Award Winning HomeHero Fire Extinguisher for Home Depot and worked with Reebok to launch their first non-sports partnership, a sneaker line, with music artist Jay-Z and 50 Cent. These examples are pinnacle points in the clients’ history and are just a few chapters of a storied brand book of projects that Jerry has contributed to and blessed to have experienced.
Beyond running his studio, Jerry is actively engaged at the intersection of business and social good. He is a Board Member of 501(c)(3) non-profit Beauty for Freedom & Director of Communications. A passionate advocate of human rights, diversity, and empowerment, the work he’s contributed to has been acknowledged by the U.S State Department.
